We have environmental, economic, and health-related concerns about industrial wind projects. To learn more, please click to read these FAQ provided by Grandpa’s Knob Wind, a site devoted to educating citizens about a wind project in southern Vermont. One question you won’t find on the linked FAQ: who’s that guy on our logo? We’re proud to say it’s Ira Allen, who founded Irasburg in 1781.

We also invite those interested in learning more about wind energy to view the Northeastern Vermont Development Association’s (NVDA) Wind Study Report from March 2015. Notably, “at the March 26, 2015 meeting of the full Board of Directors, members unanimously approved the committee’s recommendation that ‘no further development of industrial-scale wind turbines should take place in the Northeast Kingdom.'”

How would Irasburg look with two 500-foot wind turbines? Check out these projected photos.Screen Shot 2015-09-18 at 4.07.45 PM
